i was just playing with a rubberband (can you tell, the paper-writing is going oh-so-well) and had a flashback.

when i was in 5th grade, my work ethic was about the same as it seems to be now. i realized one night that a science project was due the next day. i actually made a rubberband "guitar" with thumbtacks, rubberbands, and a tissue box. it was pathetic.

i have my face shoved in the shit of that shameful memory when i watch Simpsons re-runs, specifically the episode in which bart steals lisa's science fair project of the mini civilization she has created.

"well bart, this is even more impressive than martin's rubberband ukele. we have a winner!" exclaims principal skinner.

the paper that i will produce tonight (or at least PRAY to produce) will be a rubberband fucking ukele all over again.
