get on my lap, laptop. you're warm and it's chilly in here.

my watch is spastic. it tells two sets of time. the real time, and the fake time. i was going by the fake time this morning. this is despite the fact that i was lying in bed watching the sopranos dvd i got from the library till about 11, and then went shopping in the market, and when i got home i believed that it was really 11.10.

stupid crack watch, making me think i'm on crack. it was really 2.40.

but i have been oh-so-good. after making extremely potent coffee (which i-boy claimed "smelled like booze") i managed to finish up the required readings for this week's polish-jews class. my professor uttered threats last week if we didn't read, and he was like a prison guard at some commie prison in poland so despite him looking like a cuddly Czar Nicholas II, i totally did my reading. he apparently had to "suppress an insurrection" of some sort in the prison, but declines to go into details. his former students theorize that he has killed.

this is the guy that got all polish-charming with me when i spoke to him after class once, weilding my bike seat. "oh, and you ride a bike, too? all this and you ride a bike?" (in a complimentary way) - polish men can be so stereotypical, i swears it. god i love polish men sometimes.

so today is remembrance day. i remember remembrance days past, back to first year, in fact. nov 1997, standing outside old vic, smoking on the steps looking at queen's park. thinking about 11.11 and wondering how everyone was supposed to stop, but inevitably they never really did.

i think i had just finished watching the sopranos at 11.11. another year of forgetting to stop.
