*biiiiig sigh*

they have taken ephedra off the market here in canada. well, it's a "voluntary recall" for shopkeepers, but they are going to be sending little ephedra-elves out to the stores to beat up people who haven't removed it.

the timing of this panic is pretty incredible to me, since i had been eyeing ephedra in it's natural form not 5 hours before watching lloyd robinson (canada's most trusted/crusted newsanchor) dictate in his oh-so-jfk-has-been-shot-voice that ephedra was bad! bad! and could kill you! kill you! it was the TOP STORY, for crying out loud, and despite the billion times i had been in this store, i had not spotted the herb before. yeah yeah, god, i GOT THE MESSAGE, i'm not allowed to kill myself for thinness. sheesh.

(i tried to convince socks that ephedra would do nothing bad to my heart since it beats only 3 times a year, but she is not buying it.)

so now i am feeling like a witch, brewing a tea out of several foul-tasting herbs, just to keep these blasted headaches at bay.

i'm sure a nice dose of EPHEDRA would be all i'd need...mmmmm....stimulanty...
