ohmygod, i took the plunge and not only contacted a potential advisor for my major research paper (yaaaay, no master's thesis for THIS puppy!) - AND, AND, and i contacted Prof. H. for "a chat" and to give him his gifts. although i referred to them as "those mythical items I brought back from Poland for you." does that sound too creepy? well, i'm creepy. so there.

i'm in such neeeeeeed of his guidance right now. he is my obi-wan kenobi, maybe even my yoda. a much hotter, more german yoda. ok, this metaphor is probably not working so well...

i'm deciding how to frame my paper...i had wanted to do something culturally based in poland, polish-jewish relations, blah blah but i think i would like to do *lousy drum roll please* the representation of women in holocaust films! or the representation of the holocaust in film! or polish films! or polish women! or whatever! i was also thinking of tying in memoirs...i have some polish women's memoirs, and wanted to assess those...too much...no focus...aggggh.

so that's where i stand. things with s. are in a complicated position right now, and i mustn't let it distract me from school. it always distracts me from school, but...no more.
